Maybe www.kizclub.com is a familiar website to most of you, but for the sake of those who never heard of this site, I will give a very brief overview.
Kizclub contains mostly Language Arts educational material that is suitable for Kinder to early Primary school age children. This website provides:
http://www.kizclub.com/activities.htm In this section one finds ready-to-print classroom resources, worksheets to work with the class and links to other sites. All these resources are found on the left hand side of the browser.
http://www.kizclub.com/phonicsactivities.htm This section can be particularly useful to those teachers who use phonics in their classroom. There is a variety of printed material from games which one can print and use with the children to worksheet that consolidates the teaching of phonics.

This website holds a section dedicated to topics which are commonly used in the class. Covering each topic there are various worksheet which make learning fun and exciting to children. The topics that one finds in this page are: Animals, Body and Health, Colours, Community, Food and Nutrition, Holdays and Seasons, Myself, Opposites, Shapes and Time and Numbers.
For those teachers who find a difficulty what to do during their craft lesson, this page provides useful printouts which one can easly use and relate to topics which are covered in the class.
Here are many props related to children’s story books which one can use to compliment story time in class. This section also provides online stories to various topics which teachers normally cover in their classrooms. All these links are found on the left hand side of the page.
Under this section one finds a collection of famous nursery rhymes together with word cards, coloured or black and white cliparts.
From this section one can print ready-made flashcards both in colour or black and white.
I am sure that teachers will find this section very useful. This section contains cliparts categorised by topic which most teachers usually cover during the scholastic year. The cliparts are both in colour or black and white which makes it easy for the children to colour them in.

Here are some notes about how to use Kid Pix in class. This is a software where pupils can create pictures, moopies, stampinations or slideshows. This software is found in all Primary and Kinder desktops and Primary teachers’ laptops.
Tux Paint is a good open software for kids to create their own pictures. It offers a variety of tools to choose from and the interface is very user friendly. You can find out more how to use it here.
PhotoStory is a software that can be downloaded and installed in your computer. This software is used to create videos with a number of photos or images. Here is a step by step guide for you to follow to be able to use it.
PrintShop Essentials 11 is a good software installed in all Primary and Kindergarten computers and Primary teachers’ laptop. It can be used to create printable items like flashcards, workcards, greeting cards, labels, charts, banners and others. Simple websites can be created too. Learn to read with Nina the Naming Newt, Reggie the Rhyming Rhino and Leo the Letter-Loving Lobster, three original characters created for Building Language for Literacy, who lead children on a language adventure to different places in the community, helping children not only develop language skills, but a sense of the world around them, as well.

How to integrate Building Language for Literacy in our teaching:
“Nina the Naming Newt” helps students identify places within their community and common items found in those places. This is a wonderful activity to integrate with Social Studies about ‘The World around Us’. Children drag the correct items into the box. It is a great activity to learn everyday vocabulary.
“Leo the Letter-Loving Lobster” activity helps a small group of students with letter recognition by having pupils choose the letters that match the object. Students can also keep a word dictionary in a notebook and add the new words that they spelled.
Pupils practice their rhyming skills with “Reggie the Rhyming Rhino“. Pupils choose the words that rhyme in a fun way especially if activity is done on an Interactive Whiteboard.
All activities may be worked out on an Interactive Whiteboard.

Learning Clip contains a collection of Interactive Whiteboard Resources for teaching primary maths. These interactive activities cover a huge range of mathematical topics and concepts. Each IWB activity is accompanied by a matching worksheet. Activities are grouped under each respective year and than subcatagorised under units. Although these units may not match maltese schemes of work, the topics covered by each year are very similar.
One has to register to use use this website. Although registration is free, not all activities are free of charge. Subscription is not expensive but if the teacher opt not to pay it is still worth using the free of charge activities.
The interactive activities found in this website are very colourful and easy to use. The thing that fascinated me most is the full screen mode facility, this makes the activity itself to spread out across the whole interactive whiteboard. Those teachers who do not have an Interactive Whiteboard in their school can always use their classroom computers as an alternative.
These activities can be used by the teacher as a starter/plenary activity or as a reinforcement for a particular topic.

The fun, educational games on GameGoo are split in 3 levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, with characters, such as Squanky and Fearless Frieda which will appeal to the children.
How to integrate GameGoo into our teaching:
GameGoo games may be used in the classroom to reinforce literacy and reading. They compliment any language lesson throughout all the Primary Years. Moreover, such a website works great on an Interactive Whiteboard.

ichild.co.uk is another great site full of printable stuff. Educators, especially those teaching in the Kinder and Primary must have a look at this websites. This website has loads of printables which one can use in the classroom. Printables vary from worksheets, role play activities, crafts, certificates, flashcards and much more.
Teachers should register before to be able to print the resources. The registration is FREE.
